Arrived at macaroni grill to no host waiting about 3 minutes to get seated. We were greeted by a young man and he grabbed our drink order. He was very fast and took our order. Brought out bread and the good dipping sauce!!!
Macaroni Grill has a nice ambience with instrumental music In The back ground. They have a Lunch special that is farely priced. The service was fast and friendly.
Ordered off the lunch special the insalte blu and Margarito Mio it was ok I didn't really like the salad the pizza was good. Great price at 6.99 the whole bill was 15.13 my guest ordered off the lunch menu as well.
All in all very good experence.

Sushi lunch
Yesterday I went to sushi at a place called ozeike in Oxnard, CA. All in all it was pretty good minus the waitress didn't speak good English and forgot to bring our appetizer out. By the way the have excellent chop sticks. Between the two of us we ordered a bulgia bowl (lunch price $6.95) 2 cucumber rolls with cream cheese ($4.00 each) and a sushi combo - 7 piece sushi with California roll ( lunch price $10.95) prices weren't that bad and the Sushi was good and cold.
My friend got his bowl and soup at the same time, and I was just sitting there staying at them eat . . . I finally got my soup after I asked which kinda annoyed me. I hate when servers forget to bring out soup and salad, especially if you are not busy. I got my sushi combo about 10 minutes later along with the cucumber rolls. Everything was really goodinus the service. Thankfullly we were able to flag down our waitress and left a fee minutes after we finished.

Dinner at Lupe's Thousand Oaks California
Tonight I had dinner at the remodeled Lupe's.

When I lived in California I would go there once a week, good food, cozy Mexican atmosphere and a good price. I was afraid when they remodeled it from 66 people max to 100+ inside and new outdoor seating people max the restaurant would of went down hill, being more expensive and losing the great taste I once loved.
To my surprise I actually enjoyed it the same as always, the only thing I miss is the cool rug paintings and the ambiance all of the bull paintings is gone, looks super classy now. Here is my detailed story :)
We arrived at 7:25 to a crowded restaurant, went inside to put our name on the list it took about 5 minutes for the Host/Manager to finally get to us and put our name on the list. After we put down our name on the list we went back outside and to my surprise there was a lot of waiting benches, it was very pleasant to sit there while we waited for our table. Although the restaurant seemed a little unorganized everyone was very friendly. We were sat at 7:56. The whole restaurant had been changed they added an additional room in the front that sat around 50 and they also had an area outside you could sit. The seats weren't the comfiest, but they were new and in tip top shape.
The cool thing was we sat down to chips and salsa, I was so excited because I was so gosh darn hungry. To my surprise the price of the food didn't go up with all the extravagant upgrades. I ordered a bean and cheese burrito wet (means enchilada sauce and cheese on top) it came to $5.00 you honestly cant beat that. I also ordered a taco a la carte that was $2.75. I drank an Ice Tea it was $1.75. I usually drink beer but wasn't in the mood tonight I wanted a margarita but they only had beer and wine. Their beer was priced normally $3.25 for american and $3.90 for import.
The waitress greeted us and took our order at 8:03. We got our drinks at 8:07 not to bad in my opinion. The server did keep up on refills of our drinks. But while we were waiting for our food to cook I had to go see a man about a horse, lol. The bathrooms did not meet my criteria. They had two uni-sex bathrooms that had urinals in it and the bathroom I went in was not flushed, the faucet was automatic once you put your hand under it the perfect temperature of water squirted out, it had soap and towels so other then the urinal the bathroom wasn't horrible but weird to me lol, oh yeah and 5 people were waiting to use the bathroom, i'm surprised they didn't install more bathrooms in the remodeling.
I was shocked that when I got back from the bathroom my food wasn't there because that always seems to happen to me. We ran out of nachos and salsa and did not got a refill till we got our food. We got our food at 8:28. The food was hot the only thing missing was the rice I ordered in my burrito but oh well mistakes happen. At least everything was hot and fresh. The taste was excellent, I think even better then before, Super cheesy:)
We finished up around 8:40 and got our check and some boxes at 8:44 (not to long of a wait) took the check up to the register and was out of there around 8:49

TIP-WOW
Socially Conscious Software LLC - Free
Very Basic tip calculator not very fancy graphics either, it Takes the cost of your meal with the maximum tip and the minimum tip and rate your meal. The cool thing about it is the rate your meal helps decide the tip, although it is based on things out of the servers hands it grades taste, value, and service, but it lets you pick out what is most important. It then tells you the calculated recommended tip amount. You can then decided if the tip is to low or to high of if you need it to be split. After looking at it it seems pretty cool. I will definetly try it out and see how it works. Look forward to my review!!! Rated by others a 4+

My Original Email to a friend
From my friend Matt:
I'm working on a project for my webdesign class. I have to make a website for my final grade... and i'm doing my website on "working in the restaurant industry". It consists of customer do's and don'ts, the correct way to tip, and basically everything a server has wanted to say to a customer but hasn't.
if you have anything you'd want to say or add, message me and let me know, i'll be more then happy to add it to my website, (which will be posted and live on the internet once it's completed)... and i'll be sure to add kudos to whoever says what.
My Reply:
Oh Boy you picked a good topic
I actually wanted to make a what you should tip video
I believe that lunch and breakfast it is far to tip 15% minimum or more depending on the service
for dinner i do not think it should be less then 20%
If you cant afford to tip then you shouldnt go out to eat.
Ordering takeout from a restraunt you should tip still even if it is a few bucks because some one had to pack the food!!!
What servers should be graded on . . . . attitude and personality, cleanliness, promptness, if busy at least acknowledge the person, refills, Getting you what you want before you ask, giving you options, helping you figure out what you want to eat/drink if you have questions, knowing the answers to any questions you might not have and if they dont know then they should find out, not tell you I Dont Know!, Check back, asking for desert, handing out the check, and taking check,
What a server shouldnt be graded out . . . . being triple seated, the hostess attitude, the bartender cant poor a drink, the restraunt is busy and the food takes to long, the patron doesnt like the food, food is cold (They should be graded on how they fix the problem)
Probly lots more but that is my rant at the moment.
My number one hatred for serving is the verbal tip . . . . you were the best server ever and they give you 15% what the hell!!!

Tipping Etiquette
I have been a server for as long as I can remember and it really bothers me that some people do not know how to tip. Tipping should be based on the service of the server and not the quality of the food, since the server doesnt cook the food good or bad they shouldnt be penalized.
My first post will be about Restaurant Tip Etiquette.
A 15 to 20 percent tip is the usual amount that should be left for good service. Keep in mind that you should leave 15 to 20 percent of the total bill, before tax, and before any coupons or discounts are taken off. If you received bad service, it is appropriate to reflect your displeasure by leaving a lesser tip. But keep in mind that your server may have been having a bad day or the kitchen may have been slow. It is not the server's fault if the chef overcooks your food, so be sure to take all considerations into mind before you leave a reduced tip. If the service was really bad, it's best to talk quietly with a manager about the problem. And remember to check your bill -- most high-end restaurants automatically add in an 18 percent gratuity for larger parties, so your tip amount may already be added into the bill if you go out with a large group.
Since breakfast is usually cheap its good to leave 1-2$ a person depending on the service or you can tip around 15% depending. I think it is very rude to leave just change and no bill. If you can not afford to tip properly then maybe you should think twice about dinning out.
Lunch I would say average 15-18% but if the service was good, drink refills, fast friendly service, extra items, desert, bill, or whatever you see fit then you can do 20% or more.
Dinner I always tip 20% or more unless the service was horrible, taking forever to acknowlodge me, or taking a while to get the drinks out.
